The educational website on Diversity and Inclusion
Diversity is a reality that is here to stay. People should learn how to cooperate and work together toward a common goal.
Race refers to a person's physical appearance, such as skin color, eye color and other traits. On the other hand, ethnicity, relates to all the cultural factors such as nationality, culture, ancestry, language or beliefs, when nationality represents the place of birth.
Women continue to be an under-employed resource. They are still not equally represented at executive levels and boards. Half of the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) hide their identity at work.
Experienced candidates are some times considered more of an expense (higher salary, pension, benefits costs, etc.) than a younger applicant would be. Around 60% of people with disabilities are of working age, but they experience an unemployment rate 80-100% higher than average non-disabled workers.
